Questions parents ask
Everything you need to know before joining the founding cohort. Still have a question? Email info@thenewinfinity.com.
Who teaches the sessions?
Dr. Tao Wang designs every program and leads every session. She has spent 20+ years in AI and robotics, including 12 years building AI at Apple and Adobe, where she led engineering teams.
Is my student ready?
Our programs are for students in grades 6–12, and Level 1 needs no robotics experience, and no prior programming experience is necessary. If your student has done robotics before, such as a course, a camp, or a VEX or FRC team, they can start at Level 2. Students younger than 6th grade are considered case by case. Not sure? Try the “Find your level” questions on our Programs page, or email us at info@thenewinfinity.com.
My student is already on a school robotics team. Is this still useful?
Yes. School teams focus on building and competing. Here, students learn why each part works, from motors to code, and apply it in small teams where everyone has a role. It’s a great complement to a school team.
How big are the sessions?
Each level has 8 students, in two teams of four. We form teams by robotics experience first, then by age, so students work with peers at a similar level and stage. Every student has a role: design, hardware, software, or project lead. Roles rotate, so every student builds, codes, and leads.
How do you keep students safe?
Dr. Wang is in the room for every session. She is a cleared volunteer with the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. We follow standard safety precautions and provide safety gear whenever students work with tools and electronics.
What are the drop-off and pickup rules?
A parent or guardian signs students in and out of every session. If you’d like your student to arrive or leave on their own, just give us your written consent.
What’s included in the price?
All robotics hardware and materials for the program. A laptop is optional for Level 1. From Level 2 on, students bring a laptop for coding, and any laptop works.
Will prices change?
Our current prices are founding cohort prices. Join the waitlist by October 31, 2026, to lock in your price. Prices for future cohorts may change as hardware costs change, and we’ll always post the current price before you register.
Do students keep the robot they build?
No. Robots stay in the lab and are reused from cohort to cohort. Instead, every student receives a certificate of completion and a digital project folder with photos, videos, and design notes from their build.
Where and when are sessions?
Sessions meet in a dedicated lab space in Saratoga, near Saratoga High School. We’ll email the exact address when you register. Level 1 meets Sunday, November 15, 2026, 1–5 pm. Level 2 is scheduled around each team’s availability, and Level 3 starts in early 2027. Exact dates go to families on the waitlist first. Level 1 is a single day of four 1-hour sessions on a weekend. Levels 2 and 3 meet once a week for a 2-hour session, after school on weekdays or on weekends.
What if my student misses a session?
We’ll share the session materials so your student can catch up before the next one.
When is payment due?
Payment is due when you register for a program. Joining the waitlist is free, so you won’t pay anything until you register. We prefer a check made out to “The New Infinity Inc.,” and we also accept Zelle. You can pay in person when you drop off your student’s signed registration forms.
Protect yourself from scams: we share payment details only in person or by email from info@thenewinfinity.com. Before you send a Zelle payment, check that the recipient name in your banking app matches the one we gave you. We will never ask you to pay by text message, gift card, or cryptocurrency, or from any other email address. If a request looks unusual, email us before you pay.
What is the refund policy?
You’ll get a full refund if you cancel before the program starts. Refunds aren’t available after the first session.
